Obituary ~ Charles Arthur Carrithers
April 13, 1862 ~ July 29, 1949

CHARLES ARTHUR CARRITHERS, son of STEHPEN JR. and ELIZABETH JOHNSON CARRITHERS, was born in Decatur county five miles north of Leon on April 13, 1862, and departed this life July 29, 1949, at his farm home at the age of 87 years, 3 months, 16 days. He was united in marriage to ALICE BRUNBACK December 24, 1895. To his union five children were born, one son, ALBY, preceding him in death.

He was united with the Presbyterian church in infancy and always lived a true Christian life.

He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife and four children: ETHEL BENNETT, Leon; MABEL FLETCHER, Des Moines, Iowa; ELMER, Peru, Ind., and OTIS, Kansas City, M., and nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two nieces, two nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Stewart Funeral Home. Burial was in the Leon cemetery.
