Obituary ~ Russell C. Chambers
September 14, 1917 ~ November 18, 1983

RUSSELL C. CHAMBERS was born September 14, 1917 at the CHAMBERS farm home near Leon, Iowa, the only child of GUY AMERICUS and ADALINE CRAWFORD CHAMBERS, and died Nov. 18, 1983, age 66 years, 2 months and 4 days.

Except for a brief period spent in Colorado, RUSSELL lived his life on the century old family farm near Leon.

RUSSELL was united in marriage to IROLINE BLEVINS on March 6, 1937. Three children were born to this union: JAMES RAY, SHERYLE LEE and JANET SUE.

Active in church work, he was baptized at the age of fourteen at the Leon Brethren Church, belonged to the High Point Methodist Church for many years, and was a member of the Leon Loving Chapel United Methodist congregation at the time of his death.

During his lifetime as a farmer, feed store salesman, fertilizer company operator, hail insurance salesman, and real estate salesman, he became acquainted with great many of the people in Decatur and surrounding counties.

Surviving are his widow, IROLINE; son JIM and wife, ROBERTA, Corydon; daughter, SHERYL, Leon; daughter, JANET, Osceola; grandson, KENT and wife, BARBARA, Corydon; grandson, JEFF, Casper, Wy; grandson, JARED, Corydon; great granddaughter, AMY MARIE CHAMBERS, Corydon; aunt, EDITH CHAMBERS of Leon; cousins and other relatives and friends.

[Interment was made at Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.]
