Obituary ~ Dorothy Ruth (Martin) Bennett
July 09, 1896 ~ July 29, 1985

DOROTHY RUTH BENNETT, daughter of EVERETT LEE and MARY ANN STRANGE MARTIN, was born in Leon, Iowa July 9, 1896 and died at the Leon Care Center in Leon, Iowa on July 29, 1985, age 87 years and 20 days.

On January 8, 1918 she was married to IRA MCKINLEY BENNETT. Three daughters and two sons were born from this union. DOROTHY lived in and around Leon all of her life. She was a member of the Leon Assembly of God Church.

Preceding her in death were husband, IRA; grandson, DEAN SPIDLE; sister, DARTIE COX; and three brothers; GUY, GRANT and LOUIS MARTIN.

Surviving are sons; ARLO and wife, PAT, PAUL and wife MILDRED, of Leon; three daughters: JOAN MILLS and husband, RON, Leon; MADONNA KELLER and husband, MELVIN, Centerville, Iowa; and MONNA SPIDLE, Corydon, Iowa; 22 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; two sisters; EDITH GMM (?) and BESSIE CARPER, Leon; brother, ISAAC MARTIN, Decatur, Iowa; other relatives and friends.

[Interment was made in Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.]
