Obituary ~ Alice Veronica (Grogan) Boyce
May 7, 1889 ~ March 25, 1985

ALICE VERONICA, oldest child of MICHAEL and MARY MARTHA JANE MULLIN GROGAN, was born May 7, 1889 at Leon, Iowa and died March 25, 1985 at the Corydon Care Center, Corydon, Iowa, age 95 years, 10 months and 18 days.

She grew up an attended school in Leon. She was a life-long member of Saint Brendan’s Catholic Church in Leon.

She was married to NATHAN A. BOYCE on Feb. 2, 1920 at Leon. They were parents of 8 children. Soon after her husband’s death in 1950, she moved to Humeston, Iowa to be near her daughters. For the past 11 years, she has made her home at the Corydon Care Center.

Proceeding her in death were her parents; husband, NATHAN: 4 sons FRANCIS, JAMES and twins, HARRY and HOWARD; 2 daughters: LAYOLA BOYCE and MAURINE WILLIAMSON: 7 brothers: ALBERT, WILLIAM, LEO, JOHN L., PAT, PAUL and MAURICE GROGAN; one sister, ITAH BRIGHT; and granddaughter, MELANIE SPONSLER.

Survivors including daughter, MARGARET SPONSLER and husband, LAWRENCE of Humeston; son, BERNARD BOYCE and wife, LISA SACRAMENTO, Ca.; son-in-law GLENN WILIAMSON, Humeston, 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; other relatives and friends.

[Interment was made in Leon Cemetery.]
