Obituary ~ Iva Bell (Rhodes) Boswell
October 18, 1862 ~ March 26, 1901

IVA BELL BOSWELL, daughter of W. C. and HELEN RHODES, was born Nov. 10, 1906 in Decatur County, Iowa and died Nov. 26, 1983 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to ALFRED BOSWELL on Dec. 24, 1928. To this union were born three children: BILL, ELDON and CLARIBELLE.

BELL was a graduate of the Lamoni High School and was a rural school teacher for many years. She was an active member of the R. L. D. S. Church in Davis City and the McAllen, Texas branch. ALFRED and BELLE spent most of their married life farming in and around Davis City, Iowa. During the last nine years of their marriage they enjoyed their winter home in McAllen. After ALFRED’s death, BELLE returned to McAllen for three winters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers; daughter-in-law; and granddaughter.

Surviving are two sons: BILL BOSWELL of Leon; and ELDON BOSWELL and wife MARILYN, Nevada, Iowa; daughter, CLARIBELLE WALLER and husband, TOM, Omaha, Ne.; 8 grandchildren; PATTI STEPHENS and husband, TOM of Singapore; RONNIE BOSWELL and wife, CORBY, Davis City; MARY JANE and ANDY BOSWELL, Leon; CAROL WALLER TEEL and husband, LARRY, Des Moines; RODNEY WALLER and wife, SUSIE, Des Moines; DALE BOSWELL and wife CAROLE, Newton; and DAVIS BOSWELL of Nevada; 5 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: CECIL RHODES and wife, DORIS, and BROWN RHODES and wife, LOUISE, all of Leon; sister WILMA DEFENBAUGH and husband, BOB, Osceola; nieces, nephews and friends.

[Interment was made in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Davis City, Iowa.]
