Obituary ~ George Braby, Jr.
August 28, 1894 ~ July 31, 1983

GEORGE, eldest son of GEORGE and SARAH BRABY, was born in Keokuk, Illinois, May 31, 1862. Later the parents moved with their two little sons to Lamoni, Iowa and here the boys grew to manhood.

In 1885, GEORGE was united in marriage at Davis City, Iowa to HATTIE LEONARD. To this union one daughter and five sons were born. In 1910 GEORGE moved his family to Garden Grove, Iowa. Here he continued to live until his passing August 6, 1948.

He was preceded in death by his wife, HATTIE in 1938, also by his parents and his brother JOE.

Leaving to mourn his death are his six children, ELMER, EARL, LLOYD, VERE, VERNON, and his one daughter Mrs. HAZEL ADAIR. Also one sister, Mrs. CLARENCE BOOTMAN of Lamoni, Iowa.

GEORGE, at an early date in life united with the church of the Latter Day Saints, continuing in this faith until his passing.

After the death of his wife GEORGE kept the home for his unmarried sons. A sober, generous, kind hearted man who surely will be missed by all who knew him.

The funeral was held in the Methodist church of Garden Grove and the body laid to rest at the side of his wife in the beautiful Garden Grove cemetery.

The pallbearers were his six grandsons; BURRELL, NEIL, LEE, and GLEN DEEN BRABY and MAX ADAIR.
