Obituary ~ Orville Clay Boyce
October 02, 1898 ~ March 09, 1979

ORVILLE CLAY BOYCE was born northwest of Garden Grove, Iowa, Oct. 2, 1898 and died at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa. March 9, 1979, age 80. He was the youngest of 11 children born to THOMAS P. and MARY LINDA BOYCE.

He and MAUDE GUNTER were united in marriage Sept. 11, 1919. To this union three children were born: MARY CLEVELAND of Ajo, Ariz.; CHARLES, deceased; and RALPH, Humeston.

He spent his life in Decatur County. He drove the Leon Oil Company truck from 1925 until 1940 when he returned to the farm. He was forced into retirement by poor health in 1961, at home in Leon and the Leon Care Center.

Preceding him in death were his parents; six brother; four sisters; wife; one son and one grandson.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, MARY and GOREGE CLEVELAND of Ajo; daughter-in-law, PEARL of Woodland; and son and daughter-in-law, RALPH and DOROTHY of Humeston; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
