In Memoriam.

DIED – In Van Wert, Aug. 3rd, (1882) of inflammation of the stomach, Mrs. NANCY BRADLEY, wife of WILLIAM BRADLEY, aged 69 years.

Mrs. BRADLEY, who died at her money in this place, was a very superior old lady. Singularly honest in heart and faultless in life she was much beloved by all who knew her. She was born in Kentucky in the year 1813 and moved to Montgomery county, Ill., where Oct. 3rd, 1831, she was married to the now afflicted husband. They moved to Decatur county twenty-six years ago. She gave her hand to the church and her heart to God some twenty-four years ago and has been a faithful christian ever since. It has not been by lot to be intimately acquainted with the deceased, but I had the pleasure to help administer to her wants during her sickness. She bore her sufferings without a mummer. In life she was industrious and patient. She leaves seven children to mourn her loss, all of whom got to see her before her death but one, and he would have got there but was delayed about twelve hours by a wrecked train and didn’t get her until her spirit had taken its flight.

The funeral was preached in the Christian Church and was largely attended. The sermon was conducted by Brother MORRIS, of Osceola. Why she was taken and others left are some of the mysteries of God.

None can tell how much we loved her,
She was good and kind to all.
Heaven claimed her as an angel,
Mother dear Forever gone.
Van Wert, Aug 6, 1882 I. E. W.

[Interment was made at Van Wert Cemetery, Van Wert, Iowa.]
