Obituary ~ Emil Beachtold

EMIL BEACHTOLD died at a hospital in Chicago last Friday and was buried in that city on Sunday. He had been suffering for about two years with a diseased hip bone and suffered terribly. He injured it while taking a barrel of sugar down stairs when he was engaged in the grocery business in Chicago. For several months he had been stopping with friends at Garden Grove. The physicians told him he could not live long, but that he had a very slight chance to recover by having the limb amputated at the hip joint. He was taken to Chicago and an operation preformed on Thursday. He did not rally and died on Friday. His sorrowing wife and little children have the sympathy of many friends in Leon during their dark hours of sorrow and trouble.
