November 16, 1884 ~ February 09, 1985HARRY ALONZO ANDREW was born Nov. 16, 1884 near Grand River, Iowa to JOHN and EVALIEN (AKERS) ANDREW, and died Feb. 9, 1985 at Leon, Iowa, age 100 year, 2 months and 24 days.
In August of 1909 he was united in marriage to JESSIE LLOYD. To their union five children were born: RAY, VERNON, RALPH, DOROTHY, and DONALD. Their mother, JESSIE, died April 6, 1953.
HARRY later married DELLA KINCAID, who also preceded him in death.
He spent most of his life in the Grand River area where he engaged in farming. When he was no longer able to care for the farm, he and his wife moved into Grand River until the time came for him to move to Leon and be near his children. HARRY moved to the Leon Care Center; due to poor health, where he was residing at the time of his death.
He was the last member of a family of 12 brothers and sisters. Two of his sons preceded him in death: VERNON on April 6, 1953 and RALPH on Sept. 10, 1979.
Surviving are his children: RAY and wife MARGARET of Leon, Iowa; DOROTHY SCUDDER and husband HOWARD, Leon; DONALD and wife MARIE, Des Moines; and daughter-in-law, ROYAL ANDREW, Osceola, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren.
