Joseph Purcell Longfellow was Lethene (Weldon) Burke/Longfellow's 2nd
husband.

OBITUARY - JOE P. LONGFELLOW

Joe P. Longfellow, who would have been 80 this December 30, was found dead
in his bed yesterday morning in the home of his oldest son, Charles
Longfellow, of Bedford, Iowa. He had been visiting there since last Friday
and had not been ill. Death was ascribed to a heart attack.
Mr. Longfellow formerly was a contractor and carpenter here for many years
and traveled for the Wrought Iron Stove Co. He had been retired for several
years. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Besides his oldest son, he is
survived by five other sons, all of Iowa, Clyde King of Springfield is a
distant relative.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the J.W.
Klingner chapel. Interment will be in Hazelwood cemetery.
