Obituary ~ Patricia "Patty" Joan (Morgan) Poole
May 22, 1937 ~ September 24, 2014

Patricia "Patty" Joan (Morgan) Poole, age 77, of Lamoni, Iowa and long time resident of Humeston, Iowa, passed away September 24, 2014, at the Lamoni Nursing and Rehab center in Lamoni, Iowa.

Patricia was born on May 22, 1937, the 15th of 15 children, to Carl Thomas and Zella Ellen (Smith) Morgan, in Garden Grove, Iowa. She was united in marriage on July 2, 1955, to Louie "Louis" Poole. Louie and Patricia were blessed with six children: Linda, Cynthia, Laura, Steven, Scott and Carrie.

Patty was a stay at home mom and was a good wife and mother. She was a terrific cook and made the best cinnamon rolls. In earlier years she enjoyed going for coffee with her friends, long walks, and attended all her children's activities.

Preceding Patricia in death were her parents; husband, Louie Poole on April 4, 2014; their daughter, Cynthia, in infancy; and siblings: Grace Scott, Lois Jones, Francis Bond, Virginia Lasley, George Morgan, Bill Morgan, Guy Morgan, Marjorie Morgan, John Morgan, Betty Braby, Beverly Petty, and Juanita Leonard.

Patricia is survived by her loving children, daughters, Linda Mason and husband Charles of Humeston, Laura Dykes of Princeton, Missouri, and Carrie Coulson and husband James of Bethany, Missouri; sons, Steve Poole and wife Jean of Derby, Iowa and Scott Poole and husband Denis Folkerts of Urbandale Iowa. Patricia is also survived by nine grandchildren: Erin & Mervin Pierson, Matthew Mason, Sarah Dykes, Tyson & Malisa Dykes, Christopher & Joanna Poole, Sean Poole, Mark Folkerts-Poole, Jose Folkerts-Poole and Kara Coulson; three great-grandsons, Bret, Bryce and Broc Pierson; sister, Eloise McKern of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; brother Richard Morgan of Emerson, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at the Garden Grove Cemetery, Garden Grove, Iowa at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 with Rev. Terry D. Roberts officiating. Arrangements were through the Slade - O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa.
