MRS. MARY JANE (HULL) BASHAW was born in
Virginia, Aug. 23, l8l9. She
was married to WM. BASHAW l836, moved to Iowa
l854. MR. BASHAW died in
l87l at Blakesburg, Iowa, nine children were
born to them, eight of whom
are still living.

MRS. BASHAW made profession of faith in
Christ and united with the M.E.
Church while in Virginia and remained a
member of the same until her
departure to the church triumphant. During
the last years of her life
MRS. BASHAW was afflicted with partial
disability on account of
rheumatism. Three brothers and one sister
survive her, two brothers and
one sister in Iowa, one brother in Virginia.
The children are dispersed
over various states, south and west.

She died very suddenly at the home of her
son, J.R. BASHAW, Leon, Iowa,
Jan. 30, l895, aged 75 years, 5 months and 7
days. Thus at a good old
age, like a shock of corn in its season, she
was gathered into Heavenly
garner. She is not here for God took her.
