MRS. POLLY KIZZIRE died at the residence of
GEO. BURRELL, on Sunday
morning March 3, l895, aged l04 years, l0
months and 22 days.

We give below a short sketch of the history
of GRANDMA - as she was
generally called - obtained from her
different relatives.

POLLY ACTON, daughter of WILLIAM ACTON, was
born in Tennessee, May ll,
l790. At the age of 22 she was married to
WILLIAM KIZZIRE; to this
union there being three daughters born, all
of whom have passed away.
MRS. KIZZIRE outlived her youngest child 27
years. From Tennessee they
moved to Kentucky, from there to Indiana and
lived there 7 years during
which time MR. KIZZIRE died, l8l2. Then
GRANDMA moved to Kentucky, back
to Indiana, from there to Mercer County,
Missouri, then to Decatur,
Iowa, from here to Cowley County, Kansas,
then to Camden County,
Missouri, and then to Decatur County, Iowa,
where she resided until
death.

GRANDMA KIZZIRE has been a devoted Christian
during many years of the
close of her life and was a true member of
the Baptist Church. She has
a great many relatives verified by the fact
that SAM, son of W.C.
HAMILTON, who is fourteen years of age, is
the oldest of the 5th
generation.

Many tell us of the pleasure found in her
company and of the pioneer
life recited by her which created much
excitement and pleasure. It was
her habit to fondle children of the 4th and
5th generation on her knee
and relate to them stories of bygone days
before the oldest of us were
yet born.

GRANDMA can count her friends by the score
and all who know her counted
her as a friend. The funeral services were
held at the Holden School
House by Rev. Edwards, and interment made at
the Hamilton Grave Yard
near Pleasanton.

*I'm sure MR. KIZZIRE died in a different
year than l8l2, however, I
copied this exactly as it was written.
