DIED--Sept. 25, l894 at the home of his
parents in High Point Township,
LAWRENCE, third son of MR. and MRS. G.A.
KONKLIN, aged 24 years, ll
months and 23 days. He was born and raised
to maturity in this
neighborhood, was of a quite good nature and
a leading light among an
extensive circle of young people who will
often miss him with profound
sadness. His illness was only l5 days
duration, death came perfectly
easy just as though he was dropping into a
peaceful slumber.

Funeral services were conducted at the
residence at 2 o'clock p.m. by
Rev. Geo. H. Bennett, of Garden Grove, Pastor
of the M.E. Church, and
was attended by a large concourse of people
who deeply sympathize with
the immediate family and relatives of the
departed. The remains were
interred in the Lentz Cemetery near Woodland.
Mrs. Becca Smith, of Eden
Township, prepared the following selection in
memory of her departed
nephew:

He has paid the debt we all must
pay,

For we must also die.

When death demand we must comply,

A cheering thought we'll meet
again

In that bright and better land,

One unbroken family, one dear
united band.
