DEATH NOTICE:

(The Leon Journal-Reporter Leon, Iowa May 9, 2012)

SHEETS, Vivian Anabel [Redman], 86, of Corydon, Iowa died on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 10, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon.

Memorials may be given to the Hospice of Central Iowa.

VIVIAN ANABEL [REDMAN] SHEETS ... Vivian Anabel [Redman] Sheets passes away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, Iowa at the age of 86 years, 9 months, and 9 days.

Anabel was born on July 24, 1925 to Lela [Spencer] and Horry L. Redman in Decatur County. She was educated in country school in rural Decatur County and graduated from Leon High School in 1943. She and her six siblings were raised on a farm in rural Decatur County. Anabel taught one year in country school in Decatur County and proceeded to other occupations in Leon.

On June 14, 1947, Anabel married Dean William Sheets, from Allerton, Iowa. To this union, Anabel and Dean had three children Danny, Dale and Nancy. They kept busy on a farm outside of Allerton milking cows, raising sheep and Anabel served as a cook for the Allerton and then Wayne Community Schools from 1968 to 1988.

Anabel accepted the Lord as he Savior at age 16. She belonged to the Leon Bretheren Church, later moving to the Allerton Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Church Pianist. After she and Dean moved to Corydon, Anabel transferred to the Corydon Bible Church. Anabel was most recently a member of the Victory Baptist Church.

Her parents, husband Dean, and her siblings Bernice, Beulah, Leonard, Robert, Maurice proceeded Anabel in death.

She leaves to mourn her brother Donnie (Donna) Redman, son Danny (Janet) Sheets, son Dale (Sheryel) Sheets, daughter Nancy Sheets, grandson Chad (Lennie) Sheets, Granddaughter Kelly [Sheets] Johnston, Great-grandsons Brady and Brock Sheets and great-granddaughter Kinzey Johnston and host of extended family and friends.
