DEATH NOTICE:

LEEPER, Betty Jane, 89, of Forsyth, Missouri died on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Forsyth, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 which would have been her 90th birthday, at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa, with Rev. Terry Roberts officiating. Interment was held in the Leon Cemetery in Leon, Iowa.

BETTY JANE LEEPER ... Betty Jane Leeper, only child of Harley T. and Evalena [Finkbone] Bullard, was born May 8, 1922 in Decatur County, Iowa and died May 1, 2012 in Forsyth, Missouri at the age of 89 years.

Betty graduated from Leon High School in Leon, Iowa in 1939. She moved to Washington, D.C. in March 1942, working for the U.S. Government in the Departments of the Army and Air force from 1942 to 1975.

Betty married Ronald Harold Leeper, also from Leon, on January 5, 1944 at Francis Asbury Methodist Church in Washington, D.C. They shared over 51 years of marriage together. They made their home in Clinton, Maryland where Ron died in 1995.

Betty moved to Forsyth, Missouri on July 3, 1999. She bought a home there and was near her sister-in-law Florence Hyatt.

Ron and Betty had no children of their own, however, they did enjoy all their nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Ron; brother-in-law Raymond Leeper; and sister-in-law Florence Hyatt.

Survivors include brother-in-law Miles Leeper and wife Gladys of Leon; sister-in-law Louise Applegate of Leon; nieces and nephews: Mike, Judy, Ron, Pat, Jim, Fred, John, and Allen, Bill, JoEllen, and Sondra; good friends Jack and Linda Halley of Forsyth; and other relatives and friends from Forsyth, Leon, and Clinton.

Betty will always be remembered as a very strong and organized individual. Her "get things done" skills were legendary.
