R. Raymond Kirk

Ralph Raymond Kirk was born in Davis City, Iowa at his grandparent's home on December 5, 1920, son of Floyd Pleasant and Eva Lena (Akes) Kirk, and died August 17, 1987 at his home in Waterloo, Iowa.

He married Lois Wyant on May 28, 1943 in Los Angeles, Ca. Ray and Lois had one son, Floyd Raymond. They moved to Waterloo, Iowa in January 1945, from Burbank, Ca. Ray started working at C.W. Shirley Co. where he worked 37 years before retiring in April 1982.

Ray loved hunting, fishing, camping, baoting, golfing, and bowling. He was active in the Senior Citizens golfing and bowling leagues, bowling in a regular league and the Eagles traveling league. He was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagies Aerie 4074 in Cedar Falls, Iowa and was an active member.

He was proceded in death by his mother; brother, Harvey; Grandpa and Grandma Kirk; and Grandpa and Grandma Akes. After the death of his mother, Ray, his father, and brother went to live with Grandpa Eddie and Grandma Julie Kirk and his Aunt Birdie in the house where he was born.

Ray is survived by his widow, Lois; father, Floyd and stepmother, Nora, of Leon, Iowa; son, Floyd and wife, JoAnn, Tulsa, Ok.; 2 grandchildren, Mat and Jennifer, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; 2 step grandchildren, Bryan and Tammey, Tulsa, Ok.; brother, Karl and wife, Ida, Humbolt, South Dakota; and other relatives and friends.

Side note: He was buried in the Davis City IOOF Cemetery, Davis City, IA per a hand writen note.
