LYNCH, Juanita, 100, of Leon, Iowa died on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Urbandale Health Care Center in Urbandale, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa with Rev. Max Carmichael officiating. Visitation with the family greeting friends was held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10 at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, in Lineville, Iowa.

JUANITA LYNCH ... Juanita Hollinger Lynch, age 100 of Leon, Iowa, daughter of John Buford and Mary Elizabeth Hollinger, was born near Lineville, Iowa on November 29, 1911 and died on April 6, 2012 at Urbandale Health Care Center in Urbandale, Iowa.

After graduating from high school, she taught at country schools near Lineville for 9 years. She married Glen Lynch on April 9, 1939.

They farmed west of Lineville on the family farm until they retired in 1976. Juanita loved spending time in her garden and looked forward every spring to raising baby chickens. They spent their retirement camping at Lake Rathbun and Red Rock Lake. Juanita was a long-time member of the Lineville BFriendly Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glen in 1989; son Robert in 2002; and eight brothers and two sisters.

Juanita leaves to mourn her son James and wife June Lynch of Urbandale; daughter Glenda and husband Bob Arthur of Adel, Iowa; daughter-in-law Karen Lynch of Leon; grandchildren: Chris Lynch and wife Kristie of Urbandale, Greg and wife Susan Lynch of Clive, Iowa, Jamie Lynch of Clive, Mike and wife Lisa Hills of Adel, Terry Hills of Adel, Alison and husband Eric Jensen of Des Moines, Iowa, Melissa and husband Lance Hoffman of Indianola, Iowa; two step-grandchildren, Dan and Liz Arthur and Ed and Leigh Ann Arthur, all of Des Moines; 9 great grandchildren: Morgan and Madi Lynch of Urbandale, Katelyn and Isabelle Lynch of Clive, Taylor and Kaleb Hills of Adel, Emerson Hills of Adel, and Nicole and Brayden Jensen of Des Moines; 6 step-great grandchildren: Kawner Henderson, Grant Hoffman, Sarah, Tommie, Mary, and Rachel Arthur of Des Moines; sister-in-law Virginia Hollinger of Moravia, Iowa; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
