Isa Mae Price

Isa Mae Roberts, daughter of Anthony and Cecelia Bullard Roberts, was born in a log cabin two miles south of Van Wert, Iowa on January 6, 1875, and died at the Decatur County Hospital May 26, 1968 at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 20 days. She was the older of two children and grew to womanhood in and around Van Wert.

She was married to Ira F. Price December 11, 1892 and to this union three children were born, Donald J. Price of Ocotillo, Calif.; Gladys Mae Binning of Leon; and Clarence Albert who died in 1911. A brother Bert preceded her in death.

In the early part of their married life, she and Ira staked a claim at the opening of the Cherokee Strip near what is now Enid, Okla. where Donald and Gladys were born. They returned to Iowa in 1900 and resided on a farm near Van Wert where Clare Boy, as they called him was born in 1902.

In 1906 she was baptized and became a member of the Van Wert Christian Church. Eleven years ago Mae and Ira moved from Van Wert to Leon, and she has kept up her home since his death February 11, 1959.

Surviving are Donald and wife Helen; Gladys and husband Verne; two grandsons; Edmond Price and wife Dorothy, and Vernon Binning and wife Glendola; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
