Grace Opal Buckingham, oldest daughter of George & Cora Bell Negley Buckingham, was born near Decatur, IA, May 14, 1894, and died at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa, June 26, 1977, age 83 years, one month and 12 days.

Her life was spent in and around Decatur except four years in Dallas County.

She was united in marriage to Ray Albert Scott Sept. 15, 1912. To this union 2 children were born: Bondelita Rae and Aubrey Grayson Scott.

Survivors include Bondelita and husband Robert Phillips; daughter -in-law, Ruth Scott; grand-daughter Tonya Rae and husband Don Johnson; sisters, Mae Cox; Laura and husband Warren Akes; Goldie and husband Arthur Young; brothers, Walter Buckingham and wife LaNelle; Oliver Buckingham; Virgil Buckingham; and sister-in-law Marie [Scott] Fitch; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were husband, 1948; son, 1974; parents George Buckingham, 1954 and Cora, 1955; infant sister, Pearl; brother, Williams, 1977 and Frederick, 1972.

She was a member of the Decatur United Methodist Church, joining March 7, 1967.
