Orval Leo Fry, son of William E. and Rebecca May Fry, was born in Decatur County, Iowa, on April 12, 1914 and passed from this life by an accident while at work near Iowa City, Iowa on June 24, 1957, at the age of 43 years, 2 months, and 15 days.

He was united in marriage to Josephine M. Fest on December 21, 1933. To this union 5 children were born: twin daughters, Elizabeth May and Olive May who passed away in infancy: Beverly Jean, Larry Leo, and Lowell Gustavus.

He was converted when just a young man and lived a consistent Christian life. His great concern was the work of God and he continually desired that lost souls would be saved. He was very outstanding in his prayer life, often fasting and praying that God would send a great revival to Van Wert. Many people will remember that he spoke personally to them about eternity.

Those who preceded him in death are his infant twin daughters, Elizabeth May and Olive May; his mother Mrs William Fry; his twin sister Olive Myers Fry; a brother Noah; and a sister, Lela Cain.

He leaves to mourn his departure his loving wife, Josephine; one daughter, Beverly; two sons, Larry and Lowell; his father, William Fry, of Van Wert; two sisters, Fanny Fry of Van Wert and Belle Parker of Des Moines; six brothers , Melvin and Willie of Creston, Earl of Van Wert, Walter of Orient, Harvey of Norwalk, Robert of Lynwood, Calif.; and a host of relatives and friends.

Orval was a loving companion, a wonderful father and a true Christian friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Mildred Baker, were held at the Van Wert Assembly Of God Church on Thursday, June 27, and interment was in the Van Wert cemetery.
