YODER, Cora, 95, of Leon, Iowa, died on Thursday, January19, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Central Decatur High School gym. Interment followed in the Salem Mennonite Church Cemetery in Leon, Iowa. Arrangements were through Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Iowa.

CORA YODER ... Cora M. [Gingerich] Yoder, the daughter of Mahlon and Maggie [Miller] Gingerich, was born December 22, 1916 in Kalona, Iowa. She passed away at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday, January 19, 2012. She was 95 years and 28 days. In her youth, she was baptized upon confession of faith.

Cora was united in marriage to Moses E. Yoder on March 11, 1937 in Kalona, making their union together 74 years. They were blessed with eight children; Enos, Jacob, Pauline, Maynard, Jerry, Moses Jr., Norman, and Jonas.

Cora is preceded in death by her husband, Moses; her parents; three brothers, Linus, Jacob and Maynard Gingerich; five sisters, Katie Mast, Lizzie Gingerich, Ollie Hochstleder, Eldora Mast and Iva Gingerich; one son, Jerry (who died in infancy); two great grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Surviving her are her children: Enos (Esther Helmuth) of Leon, Iowa, Jacob (Esther Gingerich) of Kalona, Iowa, Pauline (Perry Bontrager) of Kalona, Iowa, Maynard of Leon, Iowa Moses Jr. (Ruth Hurst) of LaMonte, Missouri, Norman of Thompsonville, Illinois, Jonas (Linda Gingerich) of Leon, Iowa; 25 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving Cora are two sisters, Ida [Miller] Mullet, Pauline Schrock; and one sister-in-law, Dorothea Gingerich.

Cora's love for the Lord and caring spirit radiated out to her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her. She will be missed by all.
