DEATH NOTICE:

HAGEN, Sharon, 68, of Leon, Iowa, formerly of Weldon, Iowa, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Westview Acres in Leon. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa. Interment will be in the Van Wert Cemetery, Van Wert, Iowa. Survivors include two sons, Joe Hagen and wife Jennifer of Weldon, Iowa and Jeff Hagen and wife Roz of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren; and siblings, Charles Petty, Clarence Petty, Carol Petty and Shirley Duff.

Memorial fund has been established by the family.

SHARON ANN HAGEN ... Sharon Ann Hagen was born July 22, 1943 to Chad Leachman and Ruth Leon [Wood] Petty. She left for her Heavenly home on January 4, 2012 at the age of 68 years from Westview Acres in Leon, Iowa. Sharon grew up in Decatur County, Iowa, attended Leon schools, and was a long time resident of Weldon.

Sharon was married to Jerry Hagen. To this union three sons were born, Joe, John, and Jeff. Sharon worked the assembly line at Siemen / Furnas for over 25 years. She also cleaned at the rest areas for a short time. In her free time, Sharon enjoyed garage sales, taking care of her cats, playing cards, and going to the boat with the gals from Weldon. She loved McDonald's Happy Meals and collecting the toys. She also enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren. She was a baptized member of the Weldon Christian Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother Carol "Swede" Petty, sister Sandra Felts, and son John Hagen. Survivors include her sons, Joe Hagen and wife Roz of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren, Michael, Travis and Jayna; siblings, Shirley Duff and husband John of Van Wert, Clarence Petty and wife Missy of Clio, Iowa, Carl Petty and wife Jean of Lucas, Iowa, and Charles Petty and wife Donna of Leon; brother-in-law Carl Felts of Davis City, Iowa; nieces and nephews; other relatives and numerous friends, whom with all miss her greatly.
