“Flora Belle Wallace, resident of Osceola Leisure Manor, died at the Clarke County Hospital, Tuesday, October 19. Service will be held 1:30 Thursday, October 21, at the United Methodist Church in Weldon. Kale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.”

“Flora Belle Wallace, 98, of the Osceola Leisure Manor, died Tuesday, October 19, 1982 at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola. Services were held Thursday, October 21 at the United Methodist Church in Weldon with Edgar Wallace of Evanston, Illinois officiating the 1:30 p.m. rites. Interment was in the Hebron Cemetery in Clarke County, Iowa.

Flora Belle Wallace was born March 27, 1884 to Robert Landis and Sarah Keeran. She attended the Weldon schools and married Fred E. Wallace, July 24, 1907 in Osceola. She spent all her life in Weldon, except for the past 10 years.

Surviving relatives include her son, Marvin Wallace and wife, Betty of Weldon; two grandsons, Fred Wallace and wife, Vicky of Weldon and Ed Wallace of Evanston, Illinois; and four great grandchildren, Heather, Shea, Angel, and Misty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; one sister, Laura Brooks; and one brother, Roy Landis.”

(Flora Belle (Landis) Wallace lived just north of the Decatur county line. Her husband and son both died in Leon.)
