“Marvin Wallace Rites Febr. 29”

“Marvin Wallace, 74, Weldon, died at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon Sunday, February 26. Services were held Wednesday February 29 from the United Methodist Church in Osceola with the Rev. Clifford Haider officiating at the 11 a.m. rites. Interment was in Hebron Cemetery in Clarke County.

Marvin Wallace was born August 25, 1909 in Weldon, Iowa, son of Fred Wallace and Belle Landis Wallace. He attended school in Weldon and Capital City Commerial Business College. On December 25, 1950 he was married to Betty Waller in Osceola. Two children were born to this union.

He was a farmer in the Weldon vicinity for many years and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osceola. Survivors include his wife, Betty of Weldon; son, Fredrick Clyde Wallace and wife, Vicki of Weldon; son, Robert Edgar Wallace of Evanston, Illinois; four grandchildren, Angel, Heather, Shea and Misty.

Preceding him in death were his parents.”
