“Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Visitation will be open on Friday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.
Survivors include his daughters, Eula (Ed) West and Connie (Bud) Hook all of Weldon; brother, Willard (Dorothy) Keeler of Weldon; sister, Lois Murrow of Des Moines.
Memorials may go to Weldon Christian Church.”

Maurice Hall Keeler, son of Bert Wesley Keeler and Della Mae (Hall) Keeler was born January 4, 1910 in Leon, Iowa and passed from this life June 16, 2009 at his home in Weldon, Iowa at 99 years of age.

Maurice graduated from Weldon High School in 1928. He was united in marriage to Leah Fae Driskill on February 18, 1931 at the Christian Church parsonage in Osceola, and two daughters blessed their marriage.

Maurice began farming with horses and mules, raised purebred cattle, and lived within 1/2 mile radius of his home farm all of his life. He had farmed in his current location since 1954. He also did blacksmith and machinery repair. He was an active member of Farm Bureau for 50 plus years and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Weldon where he had served as Worthy Master. He was an active member of Weldon Christian Church all of his life and had served as Chairman of the church board.

Those relatives who preceded Maurice in death were his parents; wife; granddaughters, Tami Sue Hook and Kim Anthony Hook; grandson, James Rodney West; and brother-in-law, Cecil R. Murrow.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Eula (Ed) West and Connie (Bud) Hook - both of Weldon; grandchildren, Kevin West of Leavenworth, KS, Geron West of Weldon, Mark (Theresa) West of Columbia, MO, Bambi (Dennis) Cohagan of Abingdon, IL, Scott Hook of Weldon; 12 great grandchildren, Eric, Geoffery, Justin, Angela, Maresa, Markli, Sherry, Beau, Shae, Jacob, Cicily, Gannon; 4 great great grandchildren, Brecklinn, Layla, Silas, Gresham; brother, Willard Wayne (Dorothy) Keeler of Weldon; sister, Lois Murrow of Des Moines; nephews and nieces, other relatives and a host of friends."
