DEATH NOTICE:

(The Leon Journal-Reporter Leon, Iowa August 24, 2011)

BOSWELL, Arnetta, 81, of Lamoni, Iowa, died on Monday, August 15, 2011, in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011, at the Lamoni Community of Christ Church, with Jim Slauter and Jon Barney officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were made through Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home of Lamoni and Leon, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.

ARNETTA W. BOSWELL ... Arnetta Madeline Woods Boswell, age 81, of Lamoni, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Heber and Viola Burl [Graybill) Woods, was born May 28, 1930 in Hillsboro, Ohio. She died at the Mt. Ayr Health Care Center in Mt. Ayr, Iowa on Monday, August 15, 2011.

Arnetta graduated fro high school in Sinking Springs, Ohio in 1948. She then worked as a telephone operator in Columbus, Ohio. In 1949, she started at Graceland College and met James "Tot" Boswell. They were married on July 30, 1950 in Sinking Springs. They were blessed with three children, Lynda, Mike, and Tami. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a telephone operator in Lamoni. Arnetta owned and operated a successful floral business, Lamoni Floral, in Lamoni for 27 years. After she sold it, she worked at the local high school as a secretary and study hall teacher for 12 years.

She and Tot enjoyed traveling around the country to rodeos. She enjoyed watching Tot compete. She enjoyed reading, flowers, being outside, TV gave shows, and Crossword puzzles. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed being with them. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Lamoni and in earlier years was on a bowling league.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her in-laws; and her aunt Blanche.

Annetta was a wonderful wife and mother. She was a good cook and was her husband's best friend and supporter. Those who will miss her most are her husband, Tot Boswell of Lamoni; children, Lynda Dallyn and friend Cecil Essix of Chandler, Arizona, Mike and Mary Boswell of Canyon, Texas and Tami and Dan Taylor of Oskaloosa, Iowa; grandchildren, Clinton & Delisa Boswell, Jessica and John Jackson, Levi and Jessica Taylor, and Lincoln and Alyssa Taylor; great grandchildren, Bray and Brylee Boswell, Jett Jackson and Merrick Taylor; sister Opal and Glen Armstrong of Hillsboro, Ohio; nephews and nieces; special care giver, Mary Hershberger; and other relatives and friends.
