COWLING, David, 34, of Leon, Iowa, died on Sunday, August 14, 2011 in Leon following an auto accident. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church in Leon with Max Carmichael officiating. Arrangements were made through Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa.

DAVID ASGER COWLING ... David Asger Cowling, age 34 of Leon, Iowa, the son of David Lee and Jeanette Hoven [Laugeson], was born November 21, 1976 in Des Moines, Iowa. He died in a car accident in Leon on Sunday, August 14, 2011.

Davy, as he was known, was raised and attended school in Des Moines. In 1995 he moved to Leon to live with his grandparents. He enjoyed spending time with friends, his son Jeremiah, playing video games, grilling food, and most outside activities.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandfather, Joe Cowling; and cousins, Brian cowling and Jason Soloman.

Survivors include his grandmother, Dixie Cowling of Leon; sons, Brandon, Jeremiah, and Jeremiah's half brother, Isaiah Bates; brother Steven Cowling of Leon; mother Jeanette; nephew Levi Lee Clark; a niece Alexis Jo Clark; aunts and uncles; and other relatives and many friends.
