DEATH NOTICE:

(The Leon Journal-Reporter Leon, Iowa July 13, 2011)

REYNOLDS, MAURICE "MO", 75, of Osceola, Iowa, died on Friday, July 8, 2011, at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola, Iowa. Following cremation, Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa, with a greeting time one hour before the service. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.

MAURICE "MO" REYNOLDS ... Maurice Eldon Reynolds was born on October 6, 2935 in Decatur County, Iowa to Dorothy Reynolds. As an infant, he went to live with parents Clarence and Opal Ellars and was raised by their family.

Living in the Ellars household, he grew up with Lyman and Maudie. They lived on the Woodmansee farm, and Maurice attended the Woodmansee School. This is now where the Trinity Christian Church and Trinity Hills Cemetery are located.

Maurice, also known as "Mo"," Maury," and Mose," defined his life work as a millwright. He traveled all over the country installing manufacturing and plant equipment. These included mines, nuclear plants, and automotive facilities.

Mo had a passion for motorcycles, motorcycles, and motorcycles. He preferred Harleys but would ride anything. He was a bargain hunter and loved flea markets and auctions. He liked to visit with people and frequented all the coffee shops.

Maurice and Lana Irene Macey have been together since 1984. They were originally acquainted in Omaha, Nebraska and were together going where Mo's work took them. They settled in Osceola, Iowa in 1994.

Maurice died on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Southern Hills specialty Care in Osceola. He had been a resident there the last seventeen months.

Preceding him in death were his mother in 1944; his parents Clarence and Opal Ellars, Lyman Ellars, and Maudie Priest; and half-brother Peter Morgan.

Surviving are his companion Lana Macey of Osceola; son Mark E. Reynolds of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter Jennifer Norton of San Diego, California; five grandchildren: Justin Reynolds, Kaylee Norton, katlyn Norton, Savannah Reynolds, and Alex Reynolds; half-sister Kaye LeMaster of Granger, Iowa; sister-in-law Eva Jane Ellars of Des Moines, Iowa; and other relatives and many friends.
