MUNYON, Marvel Louese, 87, of Des Moines, Iowa, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, Iowa, with interment at Chapel Hill Gardens.

Memorial contributions can be made to the church of the donor's choice.

MARVEL LOUESE MUNYON ... Marvel Louese Munyon, 87, Des Moines, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Hospital. Funeral services were held at 11 am on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Merle Hay Funeral home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, where the family greeted friends one hour prior. Mrs. Munyon will be cremated and her remains will rest at Chapel Hill Gardens.

She was born Feb. 12, 1924, at Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Fern Mullen Robison. She was a 1942 graduated of Leon high School and had a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Drake University.

He was a retired school teacher. She taught special education classed in Audubon, Iowa, and was a third-grade teacher in Guthrie Center, Iowa, for 10 years. She was director of the Open Bible Day Care Center in Des Moines for 10 years. After retirement, she had her own business, Louese's Machine Quilting in Des Moines. She married Dennis Dean Munyon Sept. 13, 1942, at Cameron, Mo. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Marvin Munyon, Rockton, Ill., and Doyce Munyon, Omaha.; a daughter, Marveta Davis, Valley Falls, Kan.; a brother Meredith Earl Robison, Omaha; 10 grand children; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Leon Robison; two sisters, Violet Jensen and Irma Klinge; and a grandson, Rober Munyon.
