Cash, William Henry -
Dr. W. H. Cash, 83, a practicing physician in this vicinity for 48 years, passed away at a Rochester, Minn., hospital Friday, April 23 at 11 p.m. The doctor was admitted to a Des Moines hospital in March and was later taken to Rochester.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 26 from the Methodist church with the Rev. H D Butts officiating. Burial vas in Lenox cemetery.

Dr Cash was president of the Taylor County Medical Association,member of the Iowa State Medical Association, a charter member of the Lenox Rotary Club, a fifty year member of the Masonic lodge and a Past Patron of the Eastern Star. He had taught an adult Bible school class at the Methodist Church for almost 30 years.

The son of William Cash and Lydia Starkey Cash, William Henry Cash was born at Leon, Iowa Sept. 3, 1870, the sixth child in a family of nine.

Before taking his medical training he was Superintendent of Schools at Conway for eight years. He graduated with honors from Illinois Medical school and practiced for a time at Guss before coming to Lenox in 1910.

He was associated here at first with Dr Scroggs. Dr Cash was able to recall many long trips with horse and buggy and even on horseback. He bought his first automobile in 1914. His wide acquaintance and many loyal friends attest to the devotion and sincerity with which
he practiced his profession.

The doctor is survived by his wife, Amy; three sons Donald, vice president of the Wyeth Medical firm of Philadelphia; Paul, a doctor in Des Moines; and Keith, a lawyer at Albia; 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Anna Meek, Mrs Eva Russell, both of
Leon; two brothers, John of Leon and Judge Joseph Cash of Bonesteel, S. Dak.

His first fife, Helen, a son Harold, and an infant daughter, Mildred,preceded him in death.
