Woodruff, Zona E. King –
Zona E. King, the daughter of Harvey and Effie King was born near Pleasanton, Ia., November 20, 1900 and departed this life at her home in Conway, Ia. Oct. 24 about 1:15 a.m. at the age of 52 years, 11 months and 4 days.

She grew to womanhood near Pleasanton, and was united in marriage to Wilie Woodruff at Leon, Ia., Sept. 20, 1919. To this union two children were born: Rubey Wayne and Bertha Viola.

Soon after the marriage the young couple moved to Farragut where they began housekeeping. About thirty years ago they moved to Conway where they have since resided.

After a lingering illness of more than three months, she quietly passed from this life, leaving her companion of more than 34 years to mourn her going. Others left to mourn are the son, Rubey Wayne, in the army stationed at Camp Kilmer, N.J. and the daughter, Mrs. Bertha Viola John of St. Joseph, Mo.; two grandchildren, aged mother, Mrs. Effie King of Leon, one sister, 3 brothers, other relatives and a large circle of friends.

Mrs. Woodruff was not a member of any church but she was a believer in God and his son, Jesus Christ. Her faith never wavered.

The funeral services were conducted in the Conway Methodist Church by the pastor, Rev. R. V. Felt and the body was tenderly laid to rest in the Conway Cemetery.
