Bernie Raymond Moore, son of Andrew J. and Susan Kindred Moore was born Sept. 2nd 1890 in Mercer County, Missouri and passed away at the Decatur County Hospital on March 29th, 1958 at the age of 67 years, 6 months, 27 days.

He spent his early life in the vicinity of Pleasanton, Iowa and at the age of twelve years was baptized and became a member of the Chistian Church of Pleasanton.

In 1928 he moved to Greybull, Wyoming, where he was employed by the county for 17 years. During this time he made many friends in that locality.

On February 2nd 1939 he was united in marriage to Helen Baker. To this union one daughter, Sharon was born. He has spent most of his later years on a farm near Davis City, Iowa.

Bernie, as he was known by his many friend was a good neighbor, always ready to help any one in trouble. He was a loving husband and a kind father to his three step children who he loved and treated as his own.

About three and a half years ago he spent some time in the Iowa City hospital, after which time he was able to resume his normal duties for a while but has been in failing health for sometime and entered the Decatur County hospital on February 22nd 1958.

Besides his wife, Helen, and a daughter, Sharon of the home, he leaves four children by a previous marriage, one son, Raymond, having preceded him in death. (his father, one sister, and one brother) They are, Mrs. Clarence Wilson, Carl Moore, Mrs. George Findley, Mrs. Virgil Rutledge.

Three step children who are, Mrs. Dale McElhinney (sic), Richard Baker and Duane Baker. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Susan Moore of Pleasanton, Iowa, five sisters, Mrs. Andrew Rogers, Mrs. Harve Hagen, Mrs. Joe Osborn, Mrs. Kenneth Willis and Mrs. Smith Lay. Two brothers, Lawrence and Jim Moore also several grandchildren, nieces and nephews besides a host of friends and other relatives..

Services Held Tuesday For Bernie Moore ... Bernie R. Moore, 67, of near Davis City, died at the Decatur County Hospital on March 29 after an extended illness.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. George R. Lamb, were held Tuesday, April 1, at 2:00 p.m., at the Stewart Funeral Home. Interment was made in the Davis City Cemetery.
