DEATH NOTICE:

RAUCH, DORIS VIRGINIA, 80, of Mediapolis, Iowa, died Saturday, August 28, 2010, at her home at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Mediapolis, Iowa. Memorial Services were Thursday, September 2, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa, with Rev. Terry D. Roberts officiating. Burial was held in the Elk Cemetery, west of Decatur, Iowa.

DORIS VIRGINIA RAUCH ... Doris Virginia Rauch, age 80, the daughter of George Edward and Daisy Mae [Bragg] Marshburn, was born October 12, 1929 at Daisy Georgia. She died on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at her home at the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Mediapolis, Iowa.

On October 23, 1946 Doris married Richard Ray Kane. They lived in Burlington, Iowa and were blessed with six children. Richard died on September 30, 1957. Doris married Junior "Tony" Rauch on June 26, 1959. They lived in Burlington before moving to Grand River, Iowa. Junior died on September 29, 2006 while Doris was in the care center.

Doris enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning, fishing, mushroom hunting, bird watching, and playing Bingo. She helped at the Senior Citizens Meal Site in Grand River.

Preceding her in death were her parents; both husbands; son Russell Kane; and all of her siblings.

Survivors include her five children, Dorothy McInnis and William, Gary Kane and Judi, Judy Cross and Jim, Terri Bailey, and Betty "Jeanie" Smith and Doug, 12 grandchildren: 15 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
