LEONARD, LORI DIANE, 48, of Lamoni, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral Services were Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon with Elder Brad Speaks officiating. Burial was held in the Leon Cemetery in Leon, Iowa, following the services.

LORI DIANE LEONARD ... Lori Diane Leonard, age 48 of Lamoni, Iowa,the daughter of Robert Franklin and Darlene Mae [Cooper] Greenland, was born September 24, 1961 in Des Moines, Iowa. She died at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa on Tuesday, August 31, 2010.

Lori lived in Des Moines until the family moved to Leon when she was in first grade. She graduated from Central Decatur Schools in 1980. On April 18, 1981 she married Michael Leonard in Lamoni. They were blessed with two children, Andrea and Brett. Lori studied accounting at Southwestern Community College. Over the years, she worked at the pizza Hut, Maid Rite, Crown Colony, and the Lamoni Lumber Yard before starting her own disc jockey business, Lori's Music By Request.

Lori loved music and gong to concerts. She enjoyed participating in cook offs, gardening, canning, fishing, and camping, but most of all, she loved being a grandmother to Justin and Jessica.

She was preceded in death by her dad in 1983. Survivors include her children, Andrea Mendenhall and husband Mark of Lamoni and Brett Leonard of Lamoni; grandchildren, Justin and Jessica Mendenhall; ex-husband Mike Leonard of Lamoni; mother Darlene Greenland of Leon, Iowa; aunt Ila Black of Leon; sisters, Shelly Greenland and Stacy Greenland; half siblings, Jerry, Diane, Eileen, and Frank Greenland; nephews, Devin Thompson, Josey Sandage, and Trinity Greenland; close friends, Star Bethards and Leah Price; mother-in-law Judy Leonard an all the other Leonard Family; and other relatives and friends.
