DEATH NOTICE:

PARMER, NADINE V., 90, of Leon, died on Monday August 30, 2010, at Westview Acres in Leon. Graveside Funeral Services were 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at Last Chance Cemetery in Lucas County, Iowa, with Rev. Max Carmichael officiating. Burial was in Last Chance Cemetery, with arrangements through Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home of Leon, Iowa.

NADINE V. PARMER ... Nadine V. [Exley] Parmer, youngest daughter of J.C. and Gertrude [Petty] Exley, was born September 23, 1919 near Humeston, Iowa and passed on to eternal life August 30, 2010 at Westview Acres Care Center in Leon, Iowa at age 90 years, 11 months, and 7 days.

She attended country schools in the Derby-Humeston area and went to Derby High School.

On August 29, 1936 she was married to Marion Conner, and to this union were born two children, Ernest and Sandra. In 1948 she married Clarence (Dick) Parmer.

For the past 45 years, Nadine lived in Decatur County, Iowa, with the past 30 years living with daughter Sandra. Nadine worked as a nurses' aide at Frost Nursing Home in Leon, at O'Bryan Brothers, and as a cook at Decatur County Hospital.

Nadine enjoyed traveling, going to gospel sings, and family get-togethers. She will be remembered by many for her delicious homemade bread and cinnamon rolls.

Nadine was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, 5 brothers, 1 sister, a granddaughter, 2 grandsons, 1 great granddaughter, 1 great grandson and a great-great grandson, and 2 sons-in-law.

She is survived by son Ernest (Donna) Parmer of Derby; daughter Sandra Parmer of Leon; step-children: Ron (Jo Ann) Parmer of Van Wert, Iowa, Jerry (Barb) Parmer of Van Wert, Ruth Krutsinger of Chariton, Iowa, and Twyla Teater of Chariton; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great grandson; and nieces and nephews.
