DEATH NOTICE:

(The Leon Journal-Reporter Leon, Iowa September 1, 2010)

WARREN, SUSIE IMOGENE, 82, of Weldon, Iowa, died Monday August 23, 2010, at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa. Funeral Services were held at the Leon Bible Church in Leon, Iowa, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010, with Pastor Clegguart Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa. Arrangements were through the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon.

SUSIE IMOGENE WARREN ... Susie Imogene Warren, daughter of Glenn Dale and Anna Jamima [Hubbard] Reinier, was born September 17, 1927 in Decatur County, Iowa. She passed away at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon Iowa on Monday, August 23, 2010 at the age of 82 years.

Imogene was married to Chester William Warren on September 2, 1951 while Chester was serving as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict. To this union were born two children, Melvin Lynn and Anne Renee.

Imogene taught kindergarten and first grade for more than 38 years, beginning at Pleasant Hill, Garden Grove, and Van Wert Schools, with the majority of her teaching career for Clarke Community at the Weldon Elementary School, teaching first grade. She loved teaching children and made an impact on many of her students' lives.

Imogene accepted Christ as her Savior at the High Point Church in 1941 and was an active member of the Leon Bible Church most of her adult life. She rarely missed a church service and enjoyed reading her Bible every day. Imogene had a deep concern for others, praying for them regularly. She will be missed by her many friends and relatives, especially children who lived to give her hugs.

Survivors include her son Melvin and wife Annette [Bettin] Warren of Weldon; daughter Renee O'Rourke and husband Chris of Centennial, Colorado; grandson Kerry O'Rourke of Centennial; sisters-in-law, Norma Reinier of Pueblo, Colorado, Donna Redman and husband Don of Van Wert, Iowa, and Doris Binning and husband Eldon of Leon, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Charles Warren and wife Marletta of Leon and Gary Warren of Des Moines, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Chester Warren on September 3, 1991; brothers Edward Reinier and infant David Hugh Reinier; nephews, Eddie Reinier and Donnie Reinier; and sister in-law Ginger [Hinds] Warren.
