DEATH NOTICE:

CREES, BEULAH MAXINE, 78, of Sapphire Village, Montana, died at home on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Funeral Services are Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa, with Pastor Rick Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery near Grand River, Iowa. Visitation is open at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until service time. A celebration of life service was held at the Creel Funeral Chapel in Lewistown, Montana on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.

BEULAH MAXINE CREES ... Beulah Maxine Lewellen married her high school sweetheart, Joe Bryan Crees, on June 23, 1951 at the Wee Kirk of the Heather Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada, and 59 years later she died in his loving arms at home with her family at Sapphire Village, Montana. She went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the age of 78.

Maxine was born November 24, 1931 in Lewistown, Montana to Zenas Hugh and Beulah Belle [Huss] Lewellen. She graduated in 1949 from Leon High School in Leon, IA. Above all, she loved and treasured her family and children and devoted her life to them. Maxine was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and artist. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending many wonderful hours picking wildflowers.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Bryan Crees of Sapphire Village; 3 daughters: Peggy Eileen Crees of Lewistown, Laurie Lynn (J.R.) Walsh of Hydes, MD, and Karla Millette (Daniel) Mazel of Billings; a son, Joseph Bryan (Tammie) Crees of Casper WY; 2 sisters, Sandra (Dale) Bodeker of Lewistown and Hazel Brunkow of Chula Vista, CA; and 2 brothers, Bill (Melodie) Lewellen of Midland, TX and Ron Lewellen of Billings. She is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law: Billie Lewellen, Betty (Bob) Kliment, Jesse (Teresa) Crees, Ed Weir, Jon Crees, and Tony Hruska. In addition, she is survived by 14 grandchildren: Heather Dolan, Joe B. Coburn, B.J. Coburn, Micah Coburn, Jake Coburn, Zenas Crees, Zachary Crees, Vince Walsh, J.B. Walsh, Rachael Lively, Jesse Matthew Walsh, Jake Walsh, Isaac Mazel, and Jeannine Mazel; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Bonita Crees; and brothers and sisters: Roberta Lewellen, Charles Lewellen, Marabelle O'Dell, Eileen Hurska, and Harold Lewellen.
