DENNIS LYLE BEAVERS ... (Mercer) ... Dennis Lyle Beavers, 78, a lifelong resident of Mercer County, died Friday, May 11, 2001 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, Mo.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 16 at Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, with Rev. Robert Markum officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Lineville.

Mr. Beavers, son of Irl and Rose [Moore] Beavers, was born in Mercer County on Jan. 15, 1923. He was a 1942 graduate of Mercer High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and flew with the 96th combat Wing, 466th Division of the 8th Army Air Force as a belly gunner, stationed at Adlebridge Airfield in England. He was a member of Ragan-Hickman American Legion Post #477 of Mercer And Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #7159 of Princeton.

He married Rosa Stark on Nov. 23, 1955; she survives of the home northwest of Mercer.

Mr. Beavers is also survived by his son, Dale Beavers (and wife, Cynthia) of Mercer; two daughters, Janie Nimerichter (and husband, Laddie) of Lineville and Terry McNeeley (and husband, Karl) of Fayetteville, N.C.; six grandchildren, Lynnete Howard (and husband, Thom) of Leon, Ia., Carrie Nimerichter of Mercer, Cathy and Crystal Nimerichter and Keith Beavers, all of St. Joseph, Mo., and Stacey McNeeley of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Sutter of Mesa, Ariz., and Marlene Stark of Mercer; two brothers, Ted Beavers (and wife, Leta) of Moline, Ill., and Jack Beavers (and wife, Maria) of Davenport, Ia.; a brother-in-law, Ollie Smith of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters-in-law, Lois Beavers of Princeton and Garnet Beavers of Mercer; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim and Joe Beavers; one sister, Bonnie Smith; a brother-in-law, Darwin Wells; and a sister-in-law, Isabel Beavers.
