GREEN, Leonard Lee, 62, of Van Wert, Iowa, died at his home in Van Wert on May 11, 2010. Memorial Services will be scheduled at a later date.

Obituary -

LEONARD LEE GREEN ... Leonard Lee Green, son of Leonard Ashford and Maxine Green Roberts was born February 26, 1948 in Osceola. He passed form this life Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at his home in Van Wert, Iowa at 62 years of age.

Leonard grew up around Osceola. He married Denise West in May of 1979. He then moved with his family to Nevada where he worked for Nevada Automotive Test Center as a mechanic and tire technician. He enjoyed going to stock car races with daughter Erin. After losing his wife, Denise to cancer in 2003, he returned to the Osceola area in 2005. Leonard enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping, and coon hunting with dog Buddie.

Leonard has lived in Van Wert for the past several years. He met Peggy Sue Yeigh and they had a daughter together, Daisy Sue. He enjoyed time with Daisy. He spent time outdoors cutting wood, and enjoyed visiting with friends. He enjoyed time going to garage sales and flea markets or as he called it "Junkin". Leonard and Peggy were married at their home in Van Wert on March 10, 2010.

Leonard was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Ashford; grandparents who raised him, Jacob Leonard Green Sr. & Blanche Green; step-father Paul Roberts; wife, Denise West; Uncles, Orville Green, Jacob Leonard Green Jr. and Marvin Green; aunt, Viola Green.

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Peggy Sue Green of Van Wert; son Butch Green of Glenwood; daughter, Erin Green of Van Wert; daughter, Daisy Sue Green of the home; step-daughter, Kelly Sue of the home; cousin, Gary and wife Jo Green of Kansas City, MO; mother, Maxine Roberts of Van Wert; very good friends, David "Hollywood" Pierce and wife Wendy of Silver Springs, NV and John Honn of Osceola as well as other relatives and friends.

Leonard was cremated and the family is planning a memorial services for a later date. Contributions may be made to his wife Peggy.
