DEATH NOTICE:

McCLURE, R. Glendolyn 89, of Shellsburg, Iowa, died at her daughter's home in Shellsburg on Monday, May 3, 2010. Funeral services were held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday, May 8, at 11:00 am. Burial was at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

R. Glendolyn McClure, 89, of 6319 30th Ave. Dr. in Shellsburg died Monday May 3, 2010 at her daughter's home in Shellsburg after a short illness.

Survivors include her children, Ronald (Ursula) of Killeen, Texas, Bonita (Duane) Werning of Shellsburg, Dennis (Judy) of Center Point, and Patricia (Phillip) Winkler of Marion. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers and one sister.

Glendolyn was born on November 3, 1920 in Coring, Kansas, the daughter of Samuel and Ruea Schoonover Meek. She married Monte H. McClure on December 25, 1938 in Leon. He died in 1977. Glendolyn worked at Rockwell-Goss for over 17 years, retiring in 1982. She was a faithful member of Grace Brethren Church since 1964, All Church Singles Club, Republican women, The Christian Women's Association as well as volunteering at St. Lukes Hospital and Ushers Ferry.

Memorial donations may be given to Grace Brethren Church.

Mom was known for her love of God, grandchildren, dogs, flowers, travel and politics. She was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed by her friends and beloved family.
