E. O. EASTIN ... Eanice Orren Eastin, 94, died Friday, July 15, 1983, at Westview Acres at Leon, Iowa. Services were held at the Slade Funeral Chapel in Leon, Sunday, July 17, with the Rev. Max Carmichael officiating. Burial was in the Freedom Cemetery, northwest of Princeton.

Mr. Eastin was born Dec. 27, 1888, in Mercer County, a son of Steve and Belle Walker Eastin. He was married to Esther Hawk in 1910. He spent most of his life farming in Mercer County. After the death of his wife, he spent the next nine years with his son and daughter. Two years ago he entered Westview Acres and resided there until his death. He was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Arthur Eastin, and wife, Agnes, of Milan, Ill.; his daughter, Gladys Larason, and husband, Leland, Mercer; one brother, Ora Eastin, Salem, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Roscoe Basil Eastin; two brothers Earnie Eastin and Olin Eastin; and two sisters Ola Cook and Della Eastin.
