Obituary -

(The Leon Journal-Reporter Leon, Iowa 15 October 1986)

Louise Frances Hill, daughter of William Filander and Jennettie Elizabeth [Cross] Craig, was born August 16, 1907 at the family homestead north of Pleasanton, Iowa, in the Providence - Holden community in Hamilton Township and died Oct. 10,1986 at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa, age 79 years, 1 month and 24 days.

She grew up on the farm and attended the Holden School and the Providence Church.

On December 8, 1926 she was united in marriage to Otto Will Hill at Leon, Iowa, and to this union were born two children: Roy LaVern and Hyla Leona, both of Leon.

Most of her life was spent in Decatur County with the exception of four years which she lived in Harrison and Mercer Counties, Mo. In 1964, due to ill health of her husband, they retired from farming and moved to Leon.

She accepted Christ as her Saviour in her home on March 7, 1968 and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Leon. She enjoyed singing hymns and gospel songs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto, on April 25, 1970.
