JoEtta Nadine Hayes, daughter of Allen and Edith Oneida (Tuttle) McKee, was born September 24, 2000, at the West View Acres Care Center in Leon, Iowa, at the age of 80 years.

JoEtta was reared in Sewal, Iowa, and attended high school in Corydon, Iowa. She and her husband, Earl, owned and operated the Hayes' Vicker Station in South Lineville, Missouri, for many years. JoEtta was a member of the Lineville Assembly of God Church.

JoEtta was married on June 10, 1939 to Earldean William Hayes who preceded her in death on November 29, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Harbin "Mac" McKee. JoEtta is survived by two nieces, Beck McElfish (and her husband, Roy) of Leon, Iowa, and Christine Johnson (and her husband, Daniel) of Des Moines, Iowa; a nephew Eddie McKee (and his wife, Irene) of Gresham, Oregon; and by one brother, Edward McKee (and sister-in-law, Mary) of Newport, Oregon.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at the Greenlee - Middleton Chapel in Lineville, Iowa, with the Reverend max Carmichael officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville.
