EARLDEAN WILLIAM HAYES ... Earldean "Earl William Hayes, son of Oscar and Ione Beatrice [Ewing] Hayes, was born on May 21, 1917 in Mercer, Missouri and died on November 29, 1998 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 81 years.

Earl lived most of his life in the Lineville, Iowa and South Lineville, Missouri communities, and was a graduate of Lineville High School.

Earl was united in marriage on June 10, 1939 in Lexington, Nebraska to JoEtta McKee who survives him and now resides in Leon, Iowa.

He and JoEtta owned and operated the Hayes' Vicker Service Station in South Lineville, Missouri, for many years. In recent years he had been a resident of the Leisure Manor in Osceola, Iowa. Earl was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.

Survivors, besides his wife, are a half sister, Jolene; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 1, 1998, at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, Iowa with Reverend Max Carmichael officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery north of Lineville.
