DEATH NOTICE:

FULLER, Carroll Asbury, 74, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Leon, Iowa, died March 22, 2010 at Sentara Bayside Hospital in Virginia Beach. Graveside services were held March 27 at Leon Cemetery in Leon, Iowa with Rev. Terry Roberts officiating and Military Honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard of Des Moines, Iowa. Arrangements were through Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home of Leon.

CARROLL A. FULLER ... Carroll Asbury Fuller, age 74 of Virginia Beach, Virginia, son of Wayne and Lucille [Asbury] Fuller, was born October 14, 1925 in Leon, Iowa and died March 22, 2010 at Sentara Bayside Hospital in Virginia Beach.

Carroll grew up in Leon and graduated from Leon High School in 1954. He was employed by W.L. Lindsey in the Leon Journal-Reporter before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Carroll spent his career in the United States Navy, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer after 23 years of service.

He was a member of the Christian Church.

Carroll loved to be outdoors and on the water - fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed being outside and feeding his birds. Carroll had done extensive genealogy research for his family.

Carroll is survived by his high school sweetheart, wife Phyllis [Fletcher] Fuller; two daughters, Lori Haller and husband Mark of Germantown, Maryland and Lynnette Taylor and husband Craig of Norfolk, Virginia; sister Sandra Malloy and husband Jim of Kansas; and five grandchildren: William, Alex, Douglas, Ethan, and Harry.
