LURA KAESTNER ... Lura Oleta Kaestner was born to Frank and Clara Zirkelback [Zirkelbach] Kaestner at Yarmouth, Iowa, February 14, 1905. At the age of two years, they moved to a farm two miles northwest of Lamoni, Iowa. Some three years later, they moved to a farm south of Lamoni on the state line.

Lura graduated from Lamoni High School and taught one term at Black Country School. During this time, she met Cecil Driskill of Yuma, Colorado, who was visiting here. They wee united in marriage February 1, 1924, moving to Yuma, Colorado, and living on a ranch.

After one year, they moved back to Lamoni for three years, then to Des Moines, Iowa where they remained for thirteen years. It was during these years that their four children were born: Lyle Cecil of Lawndale, California, Ferryl McDaniel, Greeley, Colorado, Marilyn Ratcliffe, Richmond, Missouri, and Donna Heimstra of Knoxville, Iowa.

Lura was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of eight years near Andover, Missouri.

In 1941 they moved from Des Moines with the family to a farm near Blythedale, Missouri.

Lura leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Cecil Driskill of Lamoni, he four children, one sister Cleda Gilliland, one brother Reuben Kaestner, twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, her parents, one great great grandchild, two brothers Almond and Siegle preceded her in death.
