Decatur County Journal
Leon, Iowa
Thursday, March 5, 1914

Little HELEN MARGARET, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. EVANS was born
February 20th, 1914, but being too frail for this world lived only a short
time. The little form, placed in a beautiful white casket, was followed by
a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends to its last resting
place in the Eden Cemetery, Friday afternoon. She leaves to mourn her loss
a loving father and mother, six sisters and two brothers.

'Tis hard to break the tender cord,

When love has bound the heart.
'Tis hard, so hard to speak the words,

Little Helen, we have laid thee
Must we forever part?

In the peaceful graves embrace,
But thy memory will be cherished,

Till we see thy heavenly face.
