Decatur County Journal
Leon, Iowa
Thursday, March 12, 1914

ANGELINE BETHARDS WILSON, daughter of LITTLETON and SARAH BETHARDS, was born
in Pickaway County, Ohio, near Commercial Point, March 25, 1847, and died at
her home in Woodland, March 3, 1914. Aged 66 years, 11 months and 22 days.
She grew to womanhood in Groveport, Ohio, and on Dec. 3, 1868, she was
married to W.H. WILSON, in Ohio. She came with her husband to Iowa in 1870,
and settled on their farm northwest of Woodland, where she lived until 1900,
when they moved to Woodland, where she lived until God called her home. In
the winter of 1871, at a union meeting of the Christian Union and Methodists
held at the Beavers school house near their farm, that time until her death,
she lived a faithful life of service to her Lord and Master. She was a kind
loving and devoted wife, ever thoughtful of her husband and all of his
interests, and Bro. WILSON says, his constant guardian. She was a good
neighbor, well beloved by her husband and friends and highly respected by
all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her death a husband, five brothers,
three in Ohio, one in California, and J.D. BETHARDS, of Leon, who was
present at the funeral, and one sister, Mrs. REBECCA SNYDER, in Oklahoma,
and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral services were held at the Union Church Thursday morning at 10:30
o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.G. Duling, of Garden Grove and the body was
laid to rest in the Lentz Cemetery. The community at large extends its
deepest heartfelt sympathy to Brother WILSON and relatives in this sad hour.
May God's blessing be with all.

Card of Thanks ~

I want to thank the many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted in the
sickness and death of my beloved wife, and for the beautiful flowers and
ripened grain from friends.

-- W.H. Wilson.
